We enjoyed the May holiday weekend to take a trip to Xiapu in Fujian Province.
This trip was organised by our favorite travel group Youxiake, which I mentioned in my last post. We left on wednesday night to be able to see sunrise on thursday. The first morning we went to shoot scenes of fisherman using Cormorants for Cormorant Fishing.
After a quick breakfast we set of for the Xiapu coastline to see sundown. The first day we weren’t to lucky because it was too clouded. The next days though we had the most amazing sunsets and sunrises I’ve ever seen with soft red skies and golden colored waves. And sazturday morning we left to drive back to Shanghai. The poles you can see in the water are all bamboo sticks used to cultivate Kombu (a kind of seawead) in the see.
In total around 2000 km’s in by bus but absolutely worth the trip. Please enjoy a very small selection out of the 32 Gb of photo’s we shot…
Oh and the ‘good’ thing about having a day of because of a national holiday is that you have to work on Sunday to compensate ….. so we did 🙁
