During the October holiday we flew to Xiamen to visit the neighboring Gulangyu Island , Xiamen City and the Hakka county with it’s distinctive Tulou houses.

In this post you will find photos from the beautiful and tranquil Gulangyu Island. There are a lot of pretty well preserved colonial style buildings put here by among others Great Britain, France and Japan. They established consulates, churches, and hospitals. Also very interesting is that the island has no motorized transport at all which makes just strolling around very very pleasant. Of course with it’s location next to the sea we ate plenty of taste seafood.
